When our dossier was logged in with China April 4, 2000, I needed something that helped me feel connected to my daughter in China during the long adoption wait process. I started making ladybug red thread bracelets with a lobster claw clasp. Several individuals commented that they would like a bracelet and then I offered them to other adoptive folks on the APC E-mail group. Now I offer red thread bracelets with Chinese beads. They can be made with several designs and can be made with several types of closures such as bead closure, tie closure, lobster claw clasp and a slide closure. I've started making sterling silver ladybug bracelets, ladybug rosary bracelets, ladybug illusion necklaces and anklet bracelets, ladybug earrings, a ladybug pin and ladybug charm bracelet. I can't forget about my baby and child's Christianing bracelets too. Making and designing my jewelry help me stay connected to the adoption world, adopted folks, our children and to China itself. All hold a very special place in my heart. Besides I would love to adopt another child from China. Only time will tell.
